Black Feather I padded around the forest. It was empty and quiet except for the birds loud chirping. How much I hated birds. My icy blue eyes scanned the forest looking for something to eat. I wasn't usually hungry but there was nothing better to do, might as well just find something to keep myself entertained. My paws made light staccato tapping on the damp earth. It was wet from the rain last night. My ears twitched at the sound of small squeaking. It was probably a mouse or mole, I was looking for something more challenging. Maybe at least a large bird? I looked up at the high tree tops. Patches of light came through. There was always a large bird around. My old clan use to joke about how all the birds knew I hated their kinda and made and evil plan to haunt me for the rest of my life. I laughed at the memory.

Willowbrook started at the sound of laughter, scaring away the mouse she was stalking. She cursed under her breath and looked up with narrowed eyes to see who ruined her potential catch. She spotted Blackfeather and perked up. "Heya Blackfeather!" she called, then remembered the mouse. "You scared away my mouse!" she pouted, not really that mad anymore.

I shook my coat and looked at Willowbrook then snickered. "Jeez, well sorry." I said rolling my eyes sarcastically. "I'll catch you another one if your too lazy." I added then let out a small chuckle. I flicked my tail and sat on my haunches. I didn't really care about her mouse, I just offered to keep my self entertained.

Willowbrook narrowed her eyes at Blackfeather. "No, I'll just catch my own." she said, kneeding the ground with her paws. She opened her mouth and took a deep breath, tasting the air. She detected a strong scent of squirrel a few foxlengths away from where she and Blackfeather were.

"Whatever you want" I shrugged my shoulders and padded over to a tree. I put one paw on the moss covered bark. "Hmm. You think it will rain again?" I asked WillowBrook, almost talking to my self. I scratched the moss off with my claws. Under was just the damp bark. It was a darker brown then the other trees due to the water. I let out a small sigh and lay down, resting my head on my front paws, waiting for WillowBrook to catch another mouse.

Willowbrook took chase the moment she spotted the squirrel. For some reason, she really wanted to run, whether she caught anything or not. She flattened herself to the ground, legs flashing beneath her as she ran. By some miracle, she caught it. She picked up its limp body and took it back to Blackfeather. "I dunno." she mumbled through a mouthful of fur.

I sat up and turned my attention to Willowbrook. "Well I don't think it will for a while. Its is Greenleaf anyway." I started to lick my paw. "Squirrel. Much better then a mouse" I said. The cool air rushed past us making my fur blow with it. I shook my coat a little trying to get it back in place. Today was unusually boring. I kind of wished a bear would attack of something. I missed the feeling of a life threatening fight.

Willowbrook shrugged, her way of agreeing. She pushed the squirrel towards Blackfeather, still chewing on a bit of it. "You want some?" she offered, acknowledging the black she-cat's previous coment.

"Nah, Its okay. Not hungry much. Just really bored." I replied and pushed the squirrle closer to Willowbrook with my nose. I padded around in circles trying not to die of pure boredom. I sniffed the air smelling nothing but the tall trees and damp earth. Nothing unusual.
