Dawnwhisker pricked her ears up, hearing something move in the underbrush. The scent of prey was stale, so she dismissed it and continued to walk on.

Dawnwhisker barley spotted a root in time to jump over it and not trip. She picked up her pace, but Minnowleaf was fast, too. The pair were neck-and-neck until they reached the stream, and Dawnwhiser didn't stop in time. Trying to regain herself, she slipped on a mossy rock and fell head-first into the water - scaring every fish a mile away.

Minnowleaf dug her claws into the ground, leaning back to stop. She barely stopped in time, but Dawnwhisker wasn't as lucky. Despite herself, Minnowleaf laughed. "You ok?" she asked, bending down to grab Dawnwhisker's scruff and help her out of the water.
