Hunterpaw opened his eyes and the sunlight blinded his vision. Aw man I slept in again. My mentor will be soo mad at me. Hunterpaw got up and stretched his legs. He was sore from catching all the rabbits that he found the other day but he knew he would still have to work. "I wonder where my mentor is," he whispered to himself softly looking around just outside the den. He saw some apprentices working hard and some warriors eatin lunch probably, but there was no sign of his mentor. "I bet my mentor left again. At this rate I'll never become a warrior," Hunterpaw went to the food pile and took one starling and started chowing down on it, waiting for his mentor.

Ivystream ran over to Hunterpaw and meowed, "sorry that I was late, Birchkit tried to go exploring outside of camp again and I had to go get her." Little two-tailed Birchkit glared at
Ivystream and meowed, "I just wanted to have some fun!"

Hunterpaw gave a weak smile at the kit, he never did like little kits he thought they were annoying energetic little balls of fur. "So what are we doing today?" He asked as he looked at Ivystream.

Birchkit walked back over to the nursery with her tails both flicking in annoyance.
Ivystream shrugged and meowed, "lets hunt today."

"Fine by me," Hunterpaw said glad that the kit was walking back to the nursery where it belonged.

Ivystream smiled and meowed, "thats great! Lets go!" With that she turned around and padded out of the camp.

Ivystream walked over to the Crystal Pond then turned around to face Hunterpaw and meowed, "okay, show me what ya got."

"What?" Hunterpaw was listening closely trying to hear the slightest squeak of a mouse or a jump from a rabbit or a bird flapping his wings. He crept close to area where a small bush had lay. He pounced on the creature and a squeal yelped from the brown mouse. He push his paw on the mouse making sure it wouldn't go anywhere. He didn't kill it yet. His smile spread across his face, wide.

Ivystream walked over to him and meowed, "good, but try to kill it as soon as possible. Did you hear that squeal? So did everything else. The rest of the prey here would have gone in to hiding."

"Oh come on. There are plenty of prey left here. Besides we'll get more prey and the mouse isn't going anywhere." Hunterpaw killed the mouse with a sharp swipe of his paws to the neck. "What's the deal with kits anyway? Why can't they just stay where they are told." Hunterpaw said as he buried the dead mouse lightly that way they could continue on with their hunt and get the mouse later.
