"Alright!" Hawkshadow meowed and she started walking back the way she had come. Back to the river, that was were she had always loved going to the river. It was peaceful.
Her paw steps were quiet as they neared the river. She parted her jaws to take in the scents around her. Pray scent was overwhelming and the flowing water was refreshing to her scent glands. "I think this is a great spot to hunt Foxtail." She proclaimed letting her tail sway to the sounds of the river and blades of grass that where blowing in the wind.

Foxtail padded after Hawkshadow to the river. It was nice and clam, peace full, and not full of cats. Tasting the air, Hawkshadow was right there was prey scents everywhere. "Your right." Flicking her tail she caught a scent of a rabbit, drop into a crouch and started to creep up on it.

Watching as Foxtail began stalking something else, Hawkshadow saw a plump mouse scurrying around in the grass. She got into her own hunters crouch and started after it. Paw step after quiet paw step she made it to a great position to pounce on the mouse. She pounced and made a swift bite to the neck killing it quickly. She purred satisfied. She sracped dirt over top the mouse and set of in search of more.

Getting close to the rabbit, she pounced forward be for it could even move it was under her claws. Killed it quick and covered it with some dirt. Just as Hawkshadow did, "Nice catch." She meowed to Hawkshadow. Tastes the air for more prey.

"Thanks! That Rabbits not bad yourself Foxtail!" Hawkshadow meowed as she looked around trying to see if she could spot any other pray. She started to part her jaws to pull in more pray scent. There was at least a couple other free roaming pray just waiting to be caught. "So how are you Foxtail" she asked as she waited to find the location to some pray.

"I'm pretty good thank you. How about you. It is a lovly day out what do you think?" Spots a mouse in the grass. Crouchs and glides up to it. Pounces and the mouse darts away out from underneath her paws. "Mouse dung!" she spated. Fustraded by the mouse she tastes the air for more prey.

"I'm good, as well" Hawkshadow meowed and looked around then glanced to the sky. "Yes today is a very lovely day." She agreed. Seeing that Foxtail was going after a mouse she looked around and drew in more scents. There was another mouse in the opposite direction as the one Foxtail was after so she got up and padded slowly and quietly. "Mouse dung" said Foxtail she turned to see that she had missed the mouse. She turned on the mouse she was after only to see that it was gone. she turned around and sat back down laughing to herself.

Narrowing her eyes she turns to Hawkshadow. "Do you thing that was funny?" Grinning she sat down and looked across the river for no reson. Tasting the air she realize that something didn't smell right. "Do you smell that odd secent?" Trying to figure out where it was coming from.

"Funny that you and I both missed a mouse! Yes I find that very funny" purred Hawkshadow. She ended up following Foxtail's gaze across the river. She always like the river. Except when it was stormy, which lately it had been. Though day it was a little break from that, thank Starclan! She started to drift off into her thoughts when Foxtail said something about scents. Hawkshadow shook her head and cleared her head. Parting her jaws she drew in all the scents around her. There was something but she couldn't place it. It wasn't a fox, maybe a badger? No, that didn't smell like a badger. "Yeah I do smell something but, I can't place it." She tried taking in more scent. Still she wasn't able to tell what it was.

"Really." Foxtail question Hawkshadow, thinking about the mouse she thought is was quiet funny her self. Shaking her head. What was that smell? Taking in that sent she started to track it down. It smelt very fresh to her. "It smells fresh dosen't it? We should find out if it is a problem to the clan too. What do you think?"

As Foxtail padded on she realied that the new scent was coming for the boulder feild. She looks at Hawkshadow. "Its coming from boulder feilds. Lets go over there to see what it is." Foxtail lead the way to the boulder fields. (New thread called: New Scent)
